The world
of miniature pottery is only as varied as the imagination of the artists. We
are happy to be able to carry an assortment of these tiny creations.
On this page you will find two types of miniature pottery.
Priscilla Jim is
an Acoma potter who uses a mold to create her pieces, and then decorates
them all by hand. She creates a wide variety of creatures - domestic cats,
deer, rabbits, squirrels, owls, foxes, quail, turtles... to name but
a few. She even creates hand-painted lidded pottery boxes. Many of her
pieces are also available as Christmas ornaments. Check out
this link for her
pieces.
The other style of miniature is that created all by hand by various Native
American artists. These are essentially pinch-pots - all made using the more
traditional methods of pottery creation. We feature artists who have yet
become known - but also carry a nice selection of pieces by well-known
artists such as Dorothy and Paul Gutierrez of the Santa Clara Pueblo. These
wonderful designs range in price from $20 - about $100, depending upon the
subject.
In the
future we hope to have more individual photos of the various items available.
Meanwhile, take a look at these general photos and then
contact us if you see something
close to what you'd like. As always, our inventory is ever-changing, so we
will do all we can to help you find what you seek.
