
When it
comes to pottery, the term "greenware" refers not to the color of the piece,
but rather to the method in which it was created. For greenware, molds are
used to create the actual piece - the coil and scrape method of other more
traditional forms of pottery is not used. Then, after the piece has been
formed, each is decorated by hand in a unique style by the Navajo artist.
