"Since 1906, the Verkamp
family has operated a business in our current location on the south rim of
the Grand Canyon with minimal impact on the environment by voluntarily
implementing friendly environmental practices and by complying with the
environmental requirements. The Verkamp facility and the entire staff are
committed to further reducing our impact on the environment as a business at
Grand Canyon National Park. This is accomplished by using environmentally
safe products and practices, and by conserving, recycling, and reusing the
resources of our earth and by preventing pollution at its source. We are
committed to seeking out vendors that demonstrate the same commitment of
responsibility toward saving our planet. We will share information about our
environmental practices with our stakeholders and the public. We will seek
continual improvement in our environmental management system and in our
environmental performance."

page will soon include a list of the specific actions we have taken to put
our policies into practice. We will also share ideas and suggestions for how
