The Hopi people are probably the greatest producer of baskets among the Native American tribes. They have three major styles of basketry - wicker weave, coil weave, and plaiting.  While the plaiting style or sifter is commonly produced on all three Mesas, the coil is a product of Second Mesa and the wicker baskets are made on Third Mesa.

To shop our Hopi baskets, browse through our pages below. Keep in mind that these are primarily samples of the types of baskets that Verkamp's carries. Remember, each piece is unique - no two are totally alike.  If you see something you like, click the "Order Now" button. At this stage, you are only inquiring about that type of piece. We'll look in our inventory and see what we have available, and will contact you as soon as possible. If we may help you with this process, please contact us.
